Welcome Home, Sister
When I was 17, I was so engrossed in the TV show, “What I Like About You” and imagined how my life would be like if I had an older sister like Valerie. I imagined her beautiful, intelligent, wise, poised, fun to be with, and ultimately, a woman of God who can disciple me. As much as I knew I would never have an older sister, I always had that wish hidden deep within my heart. I remember telling God how wonderful it would be if I had an older sister. We would embark on food excursions and engage in daring escapades. She would be my confidant, my mentor, and my counselor.
On October 2nd, 2010, I looked upon Annie in her wedding dress and realized she’s the older sister I always wanted. And much more.
My sister has a servant heart who puts others before herself. She has a beautiful soul who loves God and is always dependent on Him. She is clothed in strength and speaks with wisdom. She is the sharer of delights and of sorrows, and a companion in escapades. Her hard working spirit is inspirational, and her grit is shown through her perseverance. Those who know her are blessed by her, and her lips bring forth words that lifts the spirit. In her arms you find solace and comfort, and a heart full of compassion and kindness.
My sister is Annie and a gift from God who listened to the silent wishes of my heart :)
Welcome to the family, Jie.
