Raven and Lily
I just bought R&L’s beaded snap-on bracelet (with my 20% discount! :D) and I absolutely adore it. Not just because it’s pretty, but for reasons that surpass what everybody sees on the surface.
It’s only been my 2nd day at R&L and I love everything about it. I vividly recall the numerous thoughts that I had questioning what I can do with my major. Being an art major is ironically subjective, and though there are a lot of potential jobs that require an artistic approach, I just couldn’t see myself sitting at a cubicle making logos for companies. That, in my opinion, is pretty bleak.
Thank God for the opportunity at Raven and Lily.
So far, they had me design some things for their home deco collection. Though the work can be tedious and very time consuming, the fact that these designs are going to be sent to the impoverished women in Africa, India, or Ethiopia drives me to create something that would make them happy. Each design that I make gives them a little bit of hope that adds on to the great future that God has in store for them at Raven and Lily. I’m very, very happy to be a part of this growing ministry and I take joy in indirectly loving these women from half way across the world through using the abilities that God gave me.
Having this beaded snap-on bracelet reminds me of those women that R&L are helping. It’s wonderful to have something tangible to see what they have made with their own hands. It’s amazing what God can do with the gifts He gave us, and I’m thankful that He’s giving me a small preview of what He can do with my passion for art :]
Hope always seems to be in the midst of uncertainty.
